How to connect to EVA Air Wi-Fi on a Mac

EVA Air doesn’t publish a network name or full sign-in steps. Its FAQ names the portal and its first button.

  1. Above 10,000 feet, turn on Wi-Fi and join the onboard network.

  2. Open www.evawifi.com and choose Get Online.

  3. Pick your plan. For a voucher or discount code, choose Use a voucher or discount code and enter it.

  4. Keep the data counter page open. If you close it, go back to www.evawifi.com and choose Get Online.

Some 777-300ERs also have AeroMobile texting and data roaming through partner mobile operators, from 20,000 feet. It isn’t available over the Arctic, Antarctica or the United States, and voice calls aren’t allowed.

  • Business Class passengers get free Unlimited Web Browsing, whether or not they’re members.
  • In Premium Economy, every Infinity MileageLands member gets Unlimited Web Browsing. Non-members get no free plan.
  • In Economy, Diamond and Gold Card members get Unlimited Web Browsing. Silver and Green Card members get Unlimited Text. Non-members get no free plan.
  • This table covers all EVA Air and UNI Air international flights. EVA’s regional pages give different start dates for it, from 1 September to 1 November 2026. A free browsing offer for all passengers ran before that.
  • Unlimited Text covers messaging apps such as Line and WhatsApp, but not photos or videos.

Wi-Fi is on EVA Air’s Boeing 787, 777-300ER and Airbus A330-300 aircraft, in every cabin. It works only above 10,000 feet. EVA says the satellite link can’t reach some areas, such as the polar regions. Speed depends on the number of users, the weather and the airspace.

Kilobat is a Mac menu-bar app that shows what each app sends and holds back what can wait. On EVA Air Wi-Fi:

  • The sign-in page. When it doesn’t open by itself, the menu bar says This Wi-Fi wants you to sign in, with Open sign-in page. Turn your VPN on after you’ve signed in.
  • Mark it metered. macOS treats plane Wi-Fi as unlimited. Mark it Metered in Kilobat’s Wi-Fi & Bluetooth menu or with kilobat networks cost metered, and Kilobat skips its own speed tests. If automatic switching is enabled, it switches to Travel.
  • Updates wait. With Pro, paused updaters enabled and the network filter on, macOS Software Update, App Store downloads, Google Updater and Microsoft AutoUpdate wait for an unmetered network. The apps keep working.
  • See what’s using it. Every app’s upload and download, live in the menu bar, so a messaging-only plan isn’t spent on a sync you forgot.
  • Send later. A big upload, such as Dropbox syncing a folder, shows as a row with its speed. With Pro, Send later can hold it until you’re on unmetered Wi-Fi again, for up to eight hours while Kilobat is open.
  • Know what’s slow. Health shows latency and loss, and with Pro their history through the flight. Those measurements can help you investigate a slow connection. When Slack or Zoom won’t load, Is it them or me? reads the service’s status page.

A VPN, iCloud Private Relay or your own DNS can keep the page from opening. Turn them off, open http://captive.apple.com in Safari, and turn the VPN on again after you’ve signed in. Kilobat shows Open sign-in page when a network is waiting for you.
