Green, but still failing?

Then it’s probably your side. Kilobat finds where.

A status page can’t see your Wi-Fi, and a speed test can’t see Slack. Kilobat checks your Wi-Fi, router, provider and DNS, then the service’s status page, and says which side the problem is on. Free

Questions

Where does this status come from?

From each service’s own public status page, the one its team updates, read live in your browser. Nothing here is crowd reports or guesses: a page that can’t be read says so, and is never shown as an outage.

Why do some services say “Open the status page”?

Their status pages don’t let other websites read them, so this page links to them instead. Kilobat’s app reads them directly.

Everything here is green, but my app still fails. Now what?

Then the problem is most likely on your side or on the way: Wi-Fi, the router, your provider, DNS, a VPN or proxy, or a network that blocks the service. Kilobat’s Why can’t it connect? checks each layer and names the one that failed. See Is it them, or is it you?

Can I get these from the terminal?

Yes. kilobat down --all checks every page Kilobat knows, kilobat down slack one service, and kilobat down --list lists them. Agents use the MCP tool service_status.

Is it free?

Yes, all of the status checks and outage notifications. Kilobat Pro, $29 once, adds findings with a fix for your own network and history.
