For students

Pro is free while you study.

Dorm Wi-Fi, campus networks and a phone hotspot at the end of the month are hard enough. If you’re a student, Kilobat Pro costs nothing.

Get your license

The app and the CLI are free for everyone. Pro adds the rest.

Send a short note to our support address from your school email. No school email? Attach anything that shows you’re enrolled this term.

We reply with a Pro license key, usually within a day. Paste it in Kilobat › Settings.

Campus and dorm Wi-Fi. Why can’t it connect? names the layer that fails: the login page, DNS, a blocked port or the server, so you know whether to fix it yourself or ask IT.
Hotspot data. Mark your phone’s hotspot as metered, set a budget, and Travel keeps updaters and background apps off it.
AI agents and long builds. Keep the Mac awake exactly while Claude Code, Codex or a build runs, even with the lid closed.
Calls and exams online. The stutter test and the speed test say whether a call will hold up before it starts.

Who counts as a student?

Anyone 13 or older enrolled in a degree-granting course: high school, college, university or a coding bootcamp that grants a diploma.

How long is it free?

The license is yours to keep, like a paid one: version 1 and its updates, on two Macs.

What do you do with my email?

We use it to check you’re a student and send your key, then delete the message. No mailing list, no account.

Can teachers get it too?
