Set up Kilobat in your AI agent

Kilobat gives coding agents and assistants your Mac's network as tools: per-app traffic, Wi-Fi, DNS, why a host fails, whether the network is metered, and keep-awake for long runs. Pick your agent for its exact setup.

Run tracking tells Kilobat when a run works, waits for you or is done, so it keeps the Mac awake only while the agent is busy. Without hooks, Kilobat goes by the agent's traffic and CPU.

Every setup

  1. Install the CLI, which includes the MCP server.

    brew install seifip/kilobat/kilobat
  2. Add kilobat mcp to the agent as a local stdio server.

        "kilobat": {
          "command": "kilobat",
          "args": [
            "mcp"
          ]
        }
      }
    }
  3. Add the skills, which teach the agent to read the results and to ask before changing settings.

Read-only tools run freely. Tools that change settings are annotated as destructive and tell the agent to ask you first. See AI agents and MCP in the docs for every tool, and llms-full.txt for the whole documentation as one Markdown file.
