Join `WiFi Frecciarossa` on Frecciarossa, `Wifi Frecciargento` on Frecciargento, or `WifiFrecce` in FrecciaClub and FrecciaLounge. 2. Open your browser and go to `www.frecciaplay.it` if the portal doesn’t open by itself. 3. Accept the access terms and the processing of your personal data. Trenitalia lists two Frecciarossa networks, one ending in a full stop. The free FrecciaPlay app for iOS and Android is an alternative to the browser. **Kilobat** WiFi Frecciarossa This Wi-Fi wants you to sign in Open sign-in page ### Sign-in page didn’t open? Free: A VPN, iCloud Private Relay or your own DNS can hide the sign-in page. Kilobat notices the network is waiting and opens the page in one click. Turn the VPN on again once you’re signed in. Free or paid ## Who gets Trenitalia Wi-Fi, and what it costs - Trenitalia presents on-board Wi-Fi on its Frecce as free, and says all onboard portal services are free of charge. - On Frecciarossa, access is instant: tick one box to accept the terms and you’re online. - On Frecciargento, registration is required once. Your mobile number and password then work on later trips and in FrecciaClub and FrecciaLounge. - Trenitalia says users with mobile numbers outside the +39 code can use Frecciargento Wi-Fi free. Card details only verify identity; a 5-cent hold isn’t charged. As of November 2026. Coverage ## Where Trenitalia Wi-Fi works, and where it drops 1. Icomera provides the Frecciarossa service over a multi-operator system. 2. It is on all Frecciarossa 1000, ETR700 and ETR600 trains and almost all ETR500 trains. 3. Telecom Italia provides Wi-Fi on Frecciargento trains and in FrecciaClub and FrecciaLounge areas. 4. Trenitalia’s Wi-Fi pages don’t mention Wi-Fi on Intercity or Regionale trains. The rules ## Data limits, streaming and VPNs on Trenitalia ### Limits and streaming Trenitalia doesn’t publish a data cap, speed, time limit or streaming rule for its Wi-Fi. ### VPNs Trenitalia’s Frecciarossa troubleshooting asks you to disable any active VPN, close its processes and update the VPN app if you can’t connect. Tips ## Before you board 1. 1 Turn off random hardware MAC addresses in your Wi-Fi settings if the portal won’t load, as Trenitalia suggests. 2. 2 Forget both Frecciarossa networks and reconnect if you get stuck. 3. 3 Set IP and DNS to automatic and turn off any proxy. On Trenitalia Wi-Fi on board: - **The sign-in page.** When it doesn’t open by itself, the menu bar says **This Wi-Fi wants you to sign in**, with **Open sign-in page**. Turn your VPN on again after you’ve signed in. Free: - **Why it can’t connect.** When a VPN, iCloud Private Relay or custom DNS hides the sign-in page, Kilobat names the layer that broke: VPN, DNS or the network. Free: - **See what’s using it.** Every app’s upload and download, live in the menu bar, so you know which one is taking the shared link. Free: - **Mark it metered.** macOS treats train Wi-Fi as unlimited. Trenitalia presents it as free, with no authentication required. **Do I need an account for Frecciarossa Wi-Fi?** No. On Frecciarossa you accept the terms and you’re online.
