Go to your settings and select the `PlayRenfe` Wi-Fi network. 2. Identify yourself with your ticket number, or your Más Renfe number with your DNI, NIE or passport as the password. 3. Free or paid ## Who gets Renfe Wi-Fi, and what it costs - Renfe says PlayRenfe is its free Wi-Fi service, with browsing at no data cost. - Renfe doesn’t say that access differs by class. - Without a Renfe ticket, on international travel, you use a promo code with your DNI, NIE or passport. Ask the on-board staff for the code. - Minors travelling alone can use it if they carry authorisation from a parent or legal guardian. As of November 2026. Coverage ## Where Renfe Wi-Fi works, and where it drops 1. PlayRenfe is on all AVE services, AVE between Spain and France, and Avlo. 2. It is also on most Larga Distancia (long-distance) trains. 3. Renfe doesn’t publish how the Wi-Fi reaches the internet or where coverage drops. On Renfe Wi-Fi on board: - **The sign-in page.** When it doesn’t open by itself, the menu bar says **This Wi-Fi wants you to sign in**, with **Open sign-in page**. Turn your VPN on again after you’ve signed in. Free: - **Why it can’t connect.** When a VPN, iCloud Private Relay or custom DNS hides the sign-in page, Kilobat names the layer that broke: VPN, DNS or the network. Free: - **See what’s using it.** Every app’s upload and download, live in the menu bar, so you know which one is taking the shared link. Free: - **Mark it metered.** macOS treats train Wi-Fi as unlimited.
