Select the `.italo` Wi-Fi network on your device. 2. Enter your email address and phone number. 3. Enter the one-time code you receive by SMS. 4. Open the **Italo Live** portal and start browsing. Free: A VPN, iCloud Private Relay or your own DNS can hide the sign-in page. Kilobat notices the network is waiting and opens the page in one click. Turn the VPN on again once you’re signed in. Free or paid ## Who gets Italo Wi-Fi, and what it costs - Italo says all its trains offer free on-board Wi-Fi, at no extra cost. - Italo says the service is available for the whole journey, from boarding to arrival. - No app download or subscription is needed. As of November 2026. Coverage ## Where Italo Wi-Fi works, and where it drops 1. Italo describes its Wi-Fi as “powered by Starlink” satellite technology. 2. In February 2026 Italo said Starlink would go onto its whole fleet of 25 AGV 575 and 26 Italo EVO trains, from mid-2026 to 2027. 3. Italo says Starlink tests at 300 km/h reached over 400 Mbps with 25 ms latency. 4. The Italo Live portal offers films, series, music, newspapers, podcasts and games, some even without an external connection. The rules ## Data limits, streaming on Italo ### Limits and streaming Italo doesn’t publish a data cap, time limit or device limit. It promises streaming of films, series and music without interruptions, but gives no streaming rule. It doesn’t publish a VPN rule. Tips ## Before you board 1. 1 Have your phone to hand for the SMS code before you try to sign in. 2. 2 Use the Italo Live portal’s stored content if the connection drops. On Italo Wi-Fi on board: - **The sign-in page.** When it doesn’t open by itself, the menu bar says **This Wi-Fi wants you to sign in**, with **Open sign-in page**. Turn your VPN on again after you’ve signed in. Free: - **Why it can’t connect.** When a VPN, iCloud Private Relay or custom DNS hides the sign-in page, Kilobat names the layer that broke: VPN, DNS or the network. Free: - **See what’s using it.** Every app’s upload and download, live in the menu bar, so you know which one is taking the shared link. Free: - **Mark it metered.** macOS treats train Wi-Fi as unlimited. Mark it **Metered** and Kilobat skips its own speed tests; with automatic switching, Travel blocks backups and the like on that network.
