## Questions

**Is Kilobat a VPN?**

No. It helps you understand and manage your Mac’s connection, including an existing proxy or VPN. It does not supply a tunnel or proxy nodes.

**Does the China Wi-Fi check run automatically?**

The suggestion itself makes no request to Xiaomi. Click Try alternative check to run it once, then choose Use on this network to remember it. You can also enable the China sign-in check in Settings → Network. Xiaomi receives your public IP when its check runs.

**Does it work with my proxy?**

Kilobat inspects system proxies and VPN connections. Per-app node and rule information needs a reachable Clash-compatible controller. [See proxy support](https://kilobat.app/proxies-vpns).

**Can I start for free?**
