## Find the weak link before changing your plan.

1. **One device?**Compare another device on the same connection.
2. **Only Wi-Fi?**Compare beside the router and over Ethernet.
3. **Only at night?**Repeat the same test at quiet and busy times.
4. **Still unresolved?**Send comparable results and a specific request.

## What is your connection doing?

- [Internet slower than advertised? Test it before you complain](https://kilobat.app/guides/internet-slower-than-advertised): A low speed test is a starting point.
- [Wi-Fi slow but Ethernet fast? Find the wireless bottleneck](https://kilobat.app/guides/wifi-slow-ethernet-fast): If the same device is consistently faster on Ethernet, investigate the wireless path first.
- [Why is my internet slow at night but fast in the morning?](https://kilobat.app/guides/internet-slow-at-night): An evening pattern is useful evidence, but it does not identify the cause by itself.
- [Speed test fast but internet slow? Check latency, DNS and the service](https://kilobat.app/guides/speed-test-fast-internet-slow): A speed test measures transfers to one test service.

## What can you ask your provider to do?

Your contract and location determine the process. Start with the relevant local guide.

- [Slow internet in Germany: prove underperformance and request a price reduction](https://kilobat.app/guides/germany-slow-internet-speed-reduction): For a formal speed claim in Germany, use the Bundesnetzagentur’s official measurement procedure.
- [Slow NBN speeds: evening tests, provider complaints and the TIO](https://kilobat.app/guides/slow-nbn-speeds-complaint): Compare your results with the right NBN plan figure, then ask your retail provider to investigate.
- [Slow internet in the US: build a speed complaint for your ISP and the FCC](https://kilobat.app/guides/us-internet-speed-fcc-complaint): Start with your own service agreement and repeatable measurements.
- [Slow internet in Canada: complain to your provider and the CCTS](https://kilobat.app/guides/canada-slow-internet-ccts-complaint): Give your provider a clear chance to solve the issue.
- [Broadband problems in New Zealand: provider complaints and TDR](https://kilobat.app/guides/new-zealand-broadband-tdr-complaint): Start with your provider, then check whether Telecommunications Dispute Resolution can handle the unresolved issue.
- [Slow internet in Brazil: Vivo, Claro, TIM and Anatel complaints](https://kilobat.app/guides/brazil-internet-anatel-complaint): In Brazil, keep the provider’s complaint protocol.
- [Slow broadband in China: China Telecom, Unicom and Mobile complaints](https://kilobat.app/guides/china-broadband-provider-complaint): Start with the company that provides your broadband and keep the complaint record.
- [Broadband complaint in India: complaint number, escalation and appeal](https://kilobat.app/guides/india-broadband-complaint-appeal): TRAI’s published route starts with your service provider’s complaint centre.

Elsewhere, use the [complaint template](https://kilobat.app/guides/broadband-complaint-letter) and your provider’s formal complaints process. Check your national regulator for local escalation routes.
