Turn on airplane mode. 2. Join the `LATAM Play` Wi-Fi network. 3. Scan the QR code on your seat, or go to `play.latam.com`. 4. Choose messaging, streaming or browsing. 5. SES says new A320neo, A321XLR and Embraer E195-E2 aircraft will get its multi-orbit service in the coming years. - ### [Viasat](https://kilobat.app/in-flight-wifi/viasat) The provider runs: Geostationary satellite Viasat Amara, combining geostationary and low-orbit satellites, chosen for the long-haul wide-body fleet from 2026. LATAM says every single-aisle aircraft in Brazil has Wi-Fi, as do most in Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. Wi-Fi is only on domestic flights within South America or between South American countries. SES said in July 2026 that LATAM had over 250 aircraft with Wi-Fi. LATAM announced long-haul Wi-Fi from Viasat in July 2025, starting in 2026, but its Wi-Fi page still covers single-aisle aircraft only. Turn your VPN on after you’ve signed in. - **Mark it metered.** macOS treats plane Wi-Fi as unlimited. Mark it **Metered** in Kilobat’s Wi-Fi & Bluetooth menu or with `kilobat networks cost metered`, and Kilobat skips its own speed tests. If automatic switching is enabled, it switches to Travel. - **Updates wait.** With Pro, paused updaters enabled and the network filter on, macOS Software Update, App Store downloads, Google Updater and Microsoft AutoUpdate wait for an unmetered network.
