# JetBlue Wi-Fi

JetBlue’s Fly-Fi is free for every passenger on every plane. Viasat satellites power it today, and JetBlue plans to start adding Amazon Leo in 2027.

Provider

[Viasat](https://kilobat.app/in-flight-wifi/viasat), Amazon Leo

Network

See connection instructions below; the network name may depend on the aircraft.

Free

Fly-Fi is free for everyone, on every JetBlue-operated flight.

**Checked 1 November 2026.** Prices and policies as of November 2026.

## Who provides it

- **[Viasat](https://kilobat.app/in-flight-wifi/viasat)**

Geostationary satellite Wi-Fi behind Fly-Fi on JetBlue’s fleet today.
- **Amazon Leo**

Low-orbit satellites planned from 2027, starting on planes that now fly the original Fly-Fi system.

## What’s free

- Fly-Fi is free for everyone, on every JetBlue-operated flight. JetBlue’s pages mention no pass to buy.
- Live TV is also available on all JetBlue-operated flights.

As of November 2026.

## Prices

There is nothing to buy. JetBlue says Fly-Fi is free on every aircraft and plans to keep it free.

As of November 2026.

## Streaming and calls

JetBlue says Fly-Fi lets you stream video and use several devices at once. It doesn’t publish speed figures. It says Amazon Leo will bring faster speeds and lower latency.

## VPNs

JetBlue doesn’t publish a VPN rule.

## Which planes have it

Fly-Fi is on all JetBlue-operated flights, but JetBlue says coverage varies by aircraft. Service reaches over the Atlantic, Central America and the Caribbean as well as the US. The present Fly-Fi service uses geostationary satellite capacity. The ITU estimates about 500 ms of round-trip propagation delay for a geostationary satellite, before other network delays. Amazon Leo is due to start in 2027, in phases.

## How to connect

1. In your device’s Wi-Fi settings, join JetBlue’s free Fly-Fi network.
2. Sign in to Fly-Fi when its page opens, then browse, message or stream.

JetBlue’s pages describe signing in to “our free Fly-Fi network” but don’t give the exact network name or the sign-in steps.

## On board with Kilobat

Kilobat is a Mac menu-bar app that shows what each app sends and holds back what can wait. On a plane:

- **The sign-in page.** When it doesn’t open by itself, the menu bar says **This Wi-Fi wants you to sign in**, with **Open sign-in page**. Turn your VPN on after you’ve signed in.
- **Mark it metered.** macOS treats plane Wi-Fi as unlimited. Mark it **Metered** in Kilobat’s Wi-Fi menu or with `kilobat networks cost metered`, and Kilobat skips its own speed tests. If automatic switching is enabled, it switches to Travel.
- **Updates wait.** With Pro, paused updaters enabled and the network filter on, macOS Software Update, App Store downloads, Google Updater and Microsoft AutoUpdate wait for an unmetered network. The apps keep working.
- **See what’s using it.** Every app’s upload and download, live in the menu bar, so a messaging-only plan isn’t spent on a sync you forgot.
- **Send later.** A big upload, such as Dropbox syncing a folder, shows as a row with its speed. With Pro, **Send later** can hold it until you’re on unmetered Wi-Fi again, for up to eight hours while Kilobat is open.
- **Know what’s slow.** Health shows latency and loss, and with Pro their history through the flight. Those measurements can help you investigate a slow connection. When Slack or Zoom won’t load, [Is it them or me?](https://kilobat.app/is-it-down) reads the service’s status page.

## Questions

**Is JetBlue Wi-Fi really free?**

Yes. JetBlue offers free Fly-Fi to every passenger on every JetBlue-operated flight.

**Does JetBlue have Starlink?**

No. JetBlue uses Viasat today and has signed with Amazon Leo, formerly Project Kuiper, for low-orbit service from 2027.
