## Who provides it

- **[Starlink](https://kilobat.app/in-flight-wifi/starlink-aviation)**

Air France is progressively equipping its fleet with Starlink. Older Wi-Fi remains available during the transition.

## What’s free

- Flying Blue members get free, unlimited Wi-Fi on Starlink-equipped aircraft. Membership is free and can be created on board.
- On aircraft awaiting the upgrade, Air France offers a free Message Pass and a paid Wi-Fi Pass.

As of November 2026.

## Prices

Air France does not give a price for the older Wi-Fi Pass on its current Wi-Fi page. Check the onboard portal.

As of November 2026.

## Streaming and calls

Air France says its Starlink service supports films, music and online games. The experience and permitted activities can differ on the older service.

## VPNs

Air France says to turn off your VPN or private relay while connecting. You can turn it back on after connecting.

## Which planes have it

The airline is progressively equipping its fleet, including regional aircraft. It says the aircraft assigned to a flight can change, so it cannot confirm the service at booking.

## How to connect

1. Turn on airplane mode and Wi-Fi. Turn off your VPN or private relay while connecting.
2. Select the `AirFranceWifi` network.
3. Open the portal or type `wifi.airfrance.com` in your browser.
4. Sign in with your Flying Blue email address or membership number and password.

You can create a Flying Blue account on board if you do not have one.

## On board with Kilobat

Kilobat is a Mac menu-bar app that shows what each app sends and holds back what can wait. On a plane:

- **The sign-in page.** When it doesn’t open by itself, the menu bar says **This Wi-Fi wants you to sign in**, with **Open sign-in page**. Turn your VPN on after you’ve signed in.
- **Mark it metered.** macOS treats plane Wi-Fi as unlimited. Mark it **Metered** in Kilobat’s Wi-Fi menu or with `kilobat networks cost metered`, and Kilobat skips its own speed tests. If automatic switching is enabled, it switches to Travel.
- **Updates wait.** With Pro, paused updaters enabled and the network filter on, macOS Software Update, App Store downloads, Google Updater and Microsoft AutoUpdate wait for an unmetered network. The apps keep working.
- **See what’s using it.** Every app’s upload and download, live in the menu bar, so a messaging-only plan isn’t spent on a sync you forgot.
- **Send later.** A big upload, such as Dropbox syncing a folder, shows as a row with its speed. With Pro, **Send later** can hold it until you’re on unmetered Wi-Fi again, for up to eight hours while Kilobat is open.
- **Know what’s slow.** Health shows latency and loss, and with Pro their history through the flight. Those measurements can help you investigate a slow connection. When Slack or Zoom won’t load, [Is it them or me?](https://kilobat.app/is-it-down) reads the service’s status page.
