# Southwest Airlines Wi-Fi: tests, evidence and complaints

If Southwest Wi-Fi is slow or will not stay connected, start with the portal checks. Then record a repeatable result and ask for a specific outcome.

Applies to: Southwest WiFi on designated aircraft, with SouthwestWiFi.com and the Southwest app (as of November 2026). Starlink aircraft are still being fitted. · Checked: 5 November 2026

## When this helps

- You are using Southwest Wi-Fi on a flight.
- The link is slower than you need, drops out or fails during a call.

## Check the onboard Wi-Fi

These checks follow Southwest’s published sign-in steps. Wi-Fi is only on aircraft Southwest marks as equipped.

1. Turn on airplane mode, then turn Wi-Fi on and join the Southwest WiFi network.
2. If the sign-in page does not open, type `SouthwestWiFi.com` into the browser.
3. Sign in with Rapid Rewards when the portal offers member access.
4. Note whether messaging works while pages and calls do not.

## Separate a sign-in problem from a slow link

For the tiers and sign-in rules Southwest publishes, see [the Southwest Airlines Wi-Fi guide](https://kilobat.app/in-flight-wifi/southwest-airlines).

Do not treat a messaging check as a full Wi-Fi test. Record which access you used.

1. Repeat the same page load later in the flight and write down the time.
2. Record latency and loss if a work call fails. Keep the flight number and date.
3. Note whether another device on the same login could load the same page.

## How to complain to Southwest Airlines

Use [Southwest’s official support](https://support.southwest.com/helpcenter/article/onboard-experience-and-wifi) to report the fault. Request a formal complaint reference if it remains unresolved.

Include the flight number, date, what you paid if anything, and the outcome you want. Ask for a written response.

If Southwest does not resolve it, you can file with the US Department of Transportation. Use [the air-travel complaint form](https://www.transportation.gov/airconsumer/file-consumer-complaint).

On Connectivity hell, Southwest Airlines has 58 public Wi-Fi complaints in 30 days. See [Southwest Airlines on Connectivity hell](https://kilobat.app/connectivity-hell/airline/southwest-airlines).

## Collect the evidence with Kilobat

On a Mac, Kilobat can record connection checks and produce a support report. Review the report and add your test conditions before sharing.

The basic report export is free. [Kilobat Pro’s complaint wizard](https://kilobat.app/internet-complaint) helps assemble your evidence, impact and requested resolution into a draft you review and send.

Measurements cover this Mac while monitoring ran. They cannot prove whole-cabin uptime, establish airline fault or replace a required official measurement procedure.
