# Hearthstone disconnects on Mac: region and connection checks

Hearthstone needs an internet connection and Battle.net account. Check the service and selected region before changing network settings.

## Symptoms

- Hearthstone disconnects during a match.
- The game cannot sign in or reconnect.

## Likely causes

- **Service or region issue.** An outage or a different selected region can affect sign-in and which account data appears.
- **Local connectivity.** Wi-Fi interference or a connection change can interrupt a session.

## Check service and connection

1. Check Battle.net’s current maintenance or service notices.
2. In the Battle.net launcher, confirm the selected Hearthstone region and account.
3. Blizzard’s support forum identifies Americas, Europe and Asia as region choices. Availability can change.
4. Check another website. Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet where possible.

## How to fix it

1. Wait for announced maintenance to finish, then reconnect.
