# Germany: slow internet and the official measurement process

Germany has separate official measurement procedures for fixed-line and mobile internet.

## What to check

Find the minimum, normally available and maximum speeds in your contract. The Bundesnetzagentur desktop process sets the fixed-line measurement schedule and produces a protocol.

## What to do next

Kilobat is supplementary evidence and does not replace that procedure. Present the official protocol to your provider and check the regulator’s guidance.

## Official source

[Bundesnetzagentur: Internetgeschwindigkeit](https://www.bundesnetzagentur.de/DE/Vportal/TK/InternetTelefon/Internetgeschwindigkeit/start.html)

Sources checked 3 November 2026. Rules, contracts and complaint routes can change. Check official guidance for your circumstances.

## Get help with your report

Send us a reviewed Kilobat support report. We can help you understand the measurements, choose a next test and prepare a message for your provider.
