Its connection must be stable and at least 14 Mbps, with ping to its servers under 20–30 ms, and Boosteroid suggests setting the bitrate about 30% below your connection speed. Kilobat pauses it in one click until the session ends. - **Turn off iCloud Private Relay,** which Boosteroid says can cause connection problems. - **In Safari,** turn off NSURLSession WebSocket under Develop › Experimental Features, after turning on Show Develop menu in Safari › Settings › Advanced. - **Turn off VPNs, proxies and ad blockers,** or play in an Incognito window in Chrome. - **Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi,** and on Wi-Fi stay close to the router. For H.264 Boosteroid lists 24 Mbps minimum and 35 recommended for 1080p at 60 FPS, up to 80 minimum and 100 or more recommended for 4K at 120 FPS, with ping to its servers under 20–30 ms. **Does Boosteroid have a Mac app?** Yes, for macOS 10.15 or later, with separate builds for Intel and Apple silicon. You can also play in a browser at cloud.boosteroid.com. **How much data does Boosteroid use?** Boosteroid doesn’t publish a figure. At the 35 Mbps it recommends for 1080p at 60 FPS, a whole hour would move about 16 GB. Kilobat measures what your own session uses. **Why does Boosteroid tell Mac users to turn off AirDrop?** AirDrop’s link makes the Mac’s Wi-Fi radio leave your channel to scan for nearby devices, which a live stream feels as a stutter.
